Israeli air strikes kill at least 33 people in Gaza City

  Israel’s bombardment of the Gaza Strip entered its seventh consecutive day with air raids early on Sunday killing at least 33 Palestinians, wounding dozens more, and flattening at least two residential buildings. The home of Gaza’s Hamas chief, Yehya al-Sinwar, was also targeted, according to the group’s media. In Israel’s Tel Aviv, people dashed for bomb shelters as sirens warning of incoming rocket fire blared across the city. More than 180, including at least 52 children, have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past week. More than 1,000 others have been wounded. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have killed at least 13 Palestinians. Israel has reported 10 dead, including two children. The United Nations Security Council meets on Sunday to discuss the worst outbreak of violence in years in Palestine and Israel.

THOUSANDS FLEE HOMES AS ISRAEL CONTINUES AIR RAIDS ON GAZA

  The UN says 10,000 Palestinians have been forced out of their homes in the Gaza Strip, as the death toll reaches 126. Israel continued to bombard the Gaza Strip with air raids and artillery shells on Saturday, as it stepped up the deployment of troops and tanks near the besieged Palestinian enclave. At least 126 Palestinians, including 31 children, have been killed and 920 have been wounded since hostilities flared up on Monday. The death toll is expected to rise, as another series of Israeli air assaults hit the Shati refugee camp in Gaza killing at least seven people, including six children, while burying several others in the rubble. Thousands of Palestinian families have taken shelter in United Nations-run schools in northern Gaza to escape Israeli artillery fire. NAB Lahore requests headquarters to place Shehbaz Sharif on ECL

  LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has requested NAB Headquarters to place the name of former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on the Exit Control List (ECL NAB Lahore had sent a letter to its headquarters on April 28. In a letter, the anti-graft watchdog requested the NAB Headquarters to challenge the Lahore High Court (LHC) decision of granting bail to Shehbaz Sharif in the Supreme Court. The presence of Shehbaz Sharif in the accountability court during the hearing of undertrial cases is necessary so his name should be placed in ECL, reads the letter. Last month, the court had approved Shehbaz’s bail against two surety bonds of Rs5 million each. GOVT ORDERS FRESH PROBE INTO HUDAIBIYA PAPER MILLS CASE

  ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said on Monday that the government has decided to hold a fresh investigation into the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case,  News reported. The decision to the effect was taken during a detailed briefing given to Prime Minister Imran Khan by his legal team about the cases against PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif. Taking to Twitter, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif were the main accused in the Hudaibiya case. Hudaibiya Paper Mills needed a fresh investigation and in this regard, the concerned agencies are being asked to reopen the investigation, said Chaudhry.
